This is new content! I'm Dinero and
I'm definitely a Popular Nobody. If there was ever a way to describe me. By the
way, this is my first blog so chill on me, but I'm definitely open to talk
about anything having to do with the culture. Just remember, these are all
popular thoughts that nobody says.
So everyone has a problem with
mumble rap (Even though people are listening) but I think old heads are having
an issue with the younger generation talking back. Interesting. There is a lot
of negligence these days. People just wanna be drugged out and not care about
progression. It's showing in different artists and the music that's deemed
popular. I've seen a lot of music get pushed up the charts because of the name
on the track and not for the quality of work. Social media gives a platform to
people who lack talent. It's just a world full of gimmicks. The issue that I
see is that everyone is doing everything but banging on wax. Where are the
raps? The diss tracks? I'm looking over this post listening to the new Hov
because he's a person that really takes action. Remember when everyone was
stuck on autotune? Jay dropped DOA & T-Pain's career was all f#*ked up.
Lyrics are timeless so drop some heat and the listeners will appreciate it.
This is for the up and coming too. Rap about your life and experiences. I know
plenty of cool people that never did drugs, drove fast cars or shot a gun.
Let's go back to just being yourself.
Side note; you can emulate (insert
favorite rapper or athlete) but you gotta add your own flavor to things. This
is how Kobe and Lil Wayne became great. Most of these SoundCloud rappers are
just products of Lil Wayne in one way or another but that's a topic for another
post and trust me I'll get there.
Back on the subject; be yourself and
don't be like everyone else. Sounds good right? But if we go against the grain
we end up like Meek Mill. He's a street rapper outside of his time. Yeah, he's
not the perfect example, but he took a stance for lyricism that wasn't
appreciated and the reason he "took an L" is because everybody in the
industry are friends and nobody wanted to hurt their friendship and possible
business with the Canadian Diddy that is Drake. Everyone's sensitive. Meek is a
street rapper. He's going to do street things. He might have some people run
down on you because he's on probation (forever), but when the most popular
rapper is from a suburban area and a lot of his fans represent that as well,
some hood sh!t might not be seen as relatable. You can't look to Kodak Black
for some insight about how to see women because the dude is like 19 or 20 years
old and he is also in and out of prison. He might say some really silly
sh!t because he still needs to grow up lol. He's the Project baby he’s not the
OG with knowledge. He's not a role model. Don't expect the most from him. If
Denzel Washington said "I don't like black bitches" I might shed a
single tear but this is Kodak Black. They don't wanna see him winning. *Does
Kodak Bop out of blog*
All thoughts, words, assumptions,
and reactions in the above post are for the culture.
